Remember the fall fabric that I created last week? You can read about how I did it here. When I painted it the thought was to make a table runner, but I was not sure exactly how to finish it until I played around a few days later learning free motion quilting using my darning foot. If you missed that post, you can read about it here. After doing some practice free motion stitching, I got brave, cut some batting and backing fabric for my table runner fabric and started stitching free motion leaves and swirls.
I had so much fun and was happy with the results!
I needed fabric for the trim and did not have anything in my fabric stash that looked right so I made some. I cut strips of unbleached Osnaburg muslin and sprayed them with the same colors of fabric paint used on the runner.
Now I am trying to decide what kind of centerpiece I want to add to my new table runner. Apples?
Or a pitcher and copper leaf by the Cooper Colorists?
What are you creating for fall at your house?
